The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund Committee has announced that the 25th annual scholarship will be awarded to Taylor Crowe of Waynesburg.  Taylor is a home schooled student in the Central Greene School District. Eighteen year old Taylor plans to attend Liberty University to purse a degree in Business Administration.  Taylor is the son of David and Kellie Crowe of Waynesburg.

This scholarship, the twenty-fifth for the Chamber, is presented each year to a Greene County senior who plans to attend a college, university or trade school.  The scholarship is awarded based on grade point average and a 500 word essay.   Taylor will be presented with the scholarship at the May General Membership Networking Luncheon of the Chamber of Commerce set for Wednesday, May 27th at Waynesburg University’s Benedum Dining Hall.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the scholarship, the Chamber has increased the amount of the scholarship to $2,500.  In addition to the scholarship, Taylor will also receive a laptop and laptop bag courtesy of John Frownfelter, owner of Pcsquared and a custom backpack from the Greene County United Way.

This year, thirty-seven applications for the scholarship were received by the Chamber.  The committee had a difficult task of selecting one winner from the qualified field.  The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who participated in the process.
