
MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Maintained a level of operations in accordance with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce Executives Network Approved Chamber Status. The status provides a benchmark for Chambers in Pennsylvania to measure their operational success.
• Named as one of the “25 Largest Chambers of Commerce in Southwestern Penna.“ by The Pittsburgh Business Times. Ranked at number 24th from a nine county region.
• Maintained the Chamber office to 60 West High Street. The office houses a customer reception area, work area for two staff, a project work area, a conference area, storage area and kitchenette.
• Provided an opportunity for a Bonner Scholar and two students from Waynesburg University to complete required community service hours by assisting with the organization of the Annual Christmas Parade, the presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards, Business Expo, Golf Outing, Administrative Professional Day Luncheon and regular office duties
• Maintained membership at 300 members. Provided a Member to Member Discount Program to those members and all of their employees
• Continued the publishing of a monthly newsletter which includes the publication of an online version found on our web site. The newsletter was expanded to six pages this year.
• Awarded the 18th annual Educational Scholarship to Sarah Walko of Waynesburg Central High School.
• Presented the second annual Organizational Distinguished Service Award to the Auxiliary of Southwest Regional Medical Center. A service organization who works towards the betterment of the Waynesburg community.
• Awarded the Individual Distinguished Service Award to Ivan & Adelaide Guseman. Awarded the Posthumous Distinguished Service Award to William and Kathleen Hamilton Davis.
• Sponsored and organized the 5th grade Waynesburg Central Elementary Career Day. 95% of presenters were Chamber members sharing their careers with the students.
• Organized the second Annual Greene County Business Expo.
• Hosted the Annual Golf Outing.
• Organized and executed the Annual Downtown Waynesburg Christmas Parade.
• Hosted the “Administrative Professional’s” Day luncheon at Rohanna’s Restaurant with Jonella Wozny-Williamson as the keynote motivational speaker.
• Supported the Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women by promoting the event through the Chamber newsletter, Eblasts and brochure distribution.
• Hosted the first “Halloween Spooktacular” Costume Contest in conjunction with Waynesburg Borough as a fun event for downtown merchants on Halloween.
• Provided two Waynesburg University students internship positions.
• Participated in Waynesburg University’s Service Fair for students seeking service positions.
